Location

Our program is part of the Peter Munk Cardiac Centre. We are located at Toronto General Hospital (TGH), which is part of the University Health Network (UHN).

You can click on the following link for directions to TGH:

» How to Get to Toronto General Hospital

When inside the hospital, take the elevators to the 5th floor and follow signs to “Ambulatory Cardiology”.

Parking

We must warn you….parking is more expensive at TGH than it was at SickKids. The closest parking lot is on the East side of the hospital (Elizabeth Street).

From Monday through Saturday, the maximum daily rate is over $20 (if you’re going to be here for more than a couple of hours).

Food Court

The good news... we have a great food court! To get there, just take the elevators down to the Ground Floor. You can also walk (from the Ground floor) to the MaRS building (attached to TGH) and find a different food court with even more places to choose from.

What if I need care before my first visit at TGH?

If you haven't turned 18, you should call your doctor from SickKids. You can still go to SickKids in case of emergency

If you’re 18 or older, you should call the TGH clinic – even if you haven’t had your first appointment. You will go to an adult hospital in case of emergency.

What if I miss an appointment?

You’ll receive a letter a few weeks before your clinic appointment. Please call ahead if you can’t make it. That way, we can fill that spot with another patient who is waiting to be seen. The phone number for the bookings office is: 416-340-4085

If you miss your appointment, please call us as soon as possible to schedule another appointment. We’ll probably call you, but it’s better if you call us first. Here at TGH, we think of patients as partners in their health care.

If you think you are overdue for your clinic appointment but haven’t received your letter in the mail, you should also call the clinic to find out when your next appointment will be. Remember, we’re partners in this!

If it’s an emergency, who do I call if I have left SickKids but haven’t had my first appointment at TGH yet?

If you‘re younger than 18, you can still go to the Emergency Department at SickKids.

If you’re older than 18, you will need to come to the Emergency Department at TGH, or another hospital if you don’t live nearby. Don’t worry - we will contact your old SickKids team and get your medical records. But the more information that you carry with you, the easier it is for us (and other doctors and nurses) to take good care of you.
