What is your special area of interest? 
Adults with CHD and Anaesthetic and ICU (Intensive Care Unit) care. Predictors of adverse outcome. Barriers to accessing surgical care.  

What is the best thing about working in CHD? 
Meeting interesting people from all over Canada. I admire my patients. They do not let their heart disease define them. 

What is one thing that you think that all patients with CHD should know?
I would like my patients to know how to access all the services they need. To be able to contact team ACHD members for help, advice and advocacy. 

If you weren’t a doctor, what would you be? 
A job in social services. 

Do you have any interesting hobbies or talents or pets?
In addition to my job at TGH I  work for the International Red Cross. Recently I was in Iraq and and Bangladesh. I have many grown children. I have a visually impaired Siberian Husky that keeps me company now that no one is at home.
