Dr. Candice Silversides

Where did you complete most of your training?
I received my medical degree (MD) from the University of Manitoba and then trained in adult congenital cardiology at the University of Toronto. I also did research training in epidemiology at the Harvard School of Public Health.

What is your special area of interest?
My area of interest is pregnancy and heart disease and cardiac imaging (echocardiography).

What is the best thing about working in CHD?
The patients - I learn new things from them everyday.

What is one thing that you think that all patients with CHD should know?
You need to have regular follow up because complications can develop and it is best to detect problems early.

If you weren’t a doctor, what would you be?
If I were not a doctor, I would be an architect.

Do you have any interesting hobbies or talents or pets?
I enjoy playing tennis.
